Picturing Time

We have been asked to illustrate the phrase 'Picturing Time'. This has been set as a competition by a clock makers company.

I have been thinking a lot about how I could illustrate this but with the sort of work which I like to do.

My ideas for Picturing Time:

1) Clocks - Big Ben - Alarms
2) Time in history - A moment in history
3) Capturing movement - Horses galloping, birds flying / taking off, dancers
4) People / Animals - Growing up, changing over time, evolution
5) Seasons -
     Weather - Sun, Snow, Wind
     Nature - Tree's leaves - growing - stop motion
                                        - autumn
                                        - tree as a clock
6) A time in someones life - Happy / sad
                                        - one moment - films


I love to use lots of different materials in my work as part of a collage.
I'd like to experiment using:
1) Felt making
2) Paper making
3) Tissue paper
4) Buttons?
5) Photographs
6) Painting and Drawings.
